Process for New Irrigation
If you are planning new irrigation within the MGI Command Area or the Waihao Downs Irrigation Scheme, the steps below explain what is required from initial design through to commissioning.
Notes:
All designs must comply with the Code of Practice for the Design of Piped Irrigation Systems in New Zealand.
Designs must also meet the Design Standard for Piped Irrigation Systems in New Zealand.
An ECAN-compliant pulse output meter must be installed at the point of abstraction to measure water flow rate and volume. The standard requirement is one meter per abstraction from the MGI scheme.
MGI will arrange for a telemetry of the flow meter data
