Kieran Henshaw – Vice Chair

Kieran grew up on his family’s former sheep and beef farm, developing a strong work ethic and a lasting connection to the land. After time spent working in shearing sheds and for local contractors, Kieran studied at Lincoln University, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in Agriculture.

Kieran began his career with ANZ Bank, working mainly in Timaru during an eight-year period that also included time in Hamilton. He later moved to London, working in banking and travelling widely across Europe and Africa. On returning to New Zealand, he spent four years with Heartland Bank in Invercargill and Christchurch before returning home to the family farm.

With his wife Sonya and support from his parents, Kieren led the conversion of the property into a self-contained dairy farm following the arrival of irrigation water, an investment that also enabled successful family succession.

Kieran is actively involved in the community through the Waihao Downs School PTA, the Dempsey Trust, and the Waihao Wainono Catchment Committee.
