Bruce Murphy - Director
Bruce Murphy is a member of the Murphy Farms Group, a family‑run dairy business that has been based in Glenavy for nearly four decades. Together with his wife Lesa and his parents, Bruce has helped develop their operation into a well‑established, large‑scale farming enterprise with a strong focus on long‑term sustainability and intergenerational planning.
A passionate advocate for cooperative business models, Bruce believes they are essential to the strength and resilience of rural New Zealand. He values the collective benefit of farmers working together, especially when navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Bruce brings substantial governance experience to the board. He has served as a director of MGI, a former director of Hunter Downs Irrigation, a representative on the St Kevin’s College Board of Trustees, and a past chairperson of the Lower Waitaki Zone Committee, a role that expanded his understanding of consenting processes and strengthened key relationships. His governance training includes the Fonterra Governance Development Programme, IOD training, and the Rabobank Executive Leadership Programme.
