Ben Smith - Director

Ben and Chloe, with their three daughters, farm in Waimate South Canterbury.

They started dairying in 2009 and, in 2016, lower-order sharemilking 800 cows with the Paul family. Together they have grown to 4000 cows across  five properties.

People, water, cows and cooperatives have allowed them to grow an efficient productive farming business. Ben is passionate about the importance of cooperatives for delivering water genetics and collecting milk .

Ben has a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business and Management. He is also Chair of the Livestock Improvement Corporation Shareholder Reference Group and a Director of Lower Waitaki Irrigation Ltd.
